Keeping track of your distance

Keeping track of your distance is one important element in playing the game. Sometimes you and your opponent may have the same speed, same strength, thus what goes on next is at the correct distance where you can execute your best shot and score. Likewise, you got to prevent from giving the opportunity to your opponent to score you back.

Knowing your distance is one strength one as player should have. If you are standing really close with your opponent, one must know what she or he is doing. To make this simple, perhaps these few points may be helpful. If you are in the range where you can score go ahead. If you think you are in the range where you can be scored if you do not do anything then move back to be in the safe zone or close in.

Of course as usual, said is easier than done in this case to get the correct technique. Practice it out during your sparring sessions and in fact, things can be more strategic if you include more things such as luring and that perhaps explain the reason why you or opponent may want to be in the distance prone to being scored. But this again has to be really sure and focus because anytime you could be scored if you are not focus.
