Basic Kicks - Front kick

The first and foremost kick in Taekwondo is the front kick. Though not widely used in tournament maybe perhaps it is difficult to produce sound on the padding, it is still an effective kick when facing an opponent, if it is good enough it could have an impact.

It is considered as the fastest kick as it takes the shortest distance to execute it. It is also a good kick to warm up before other kicks as the main principle of kicking lies in front kick which is the raising of the knee and the snapping motion.

The above picture is drawn and can easily illustrate the principles of a basic front kick.
