True spirit of taekwondo shown at the world championships 2007

At the world taekwondo championships 2007 held at beijing, Spanish player Juan antonio ramos truly showed the Taekwondo spirit by enduring his injury and persist on playing in the match. He was fast and accurate in his kicks against his mexican opponent at the final of male fly which is the male 58 kg category. His turning kicks managed to let him score four points to one against his opponent and suddenly while he was trying to counter the slamming kick of his opponent, his knee got injured by the slamming kick. He started shouting out in pain and it was not over, his opponent continue with a turning kick to his face while he was bending down due to his pain but it did seemed that the opponent did pull back that kick after all, maybe he knew something was not right for ramos.

Ramos immediately fell to the ground holding his leg and covering his eyes for a while. The medics came in and attended to him spraying some pain killer on his knee. After a while, he got up and continued the game.
You could really see him in pain and later on he endured it not showing any sign of weakness of his injured leg as he still used it to attack and counter-attack.

Truly admirable spirit of perseverance which is greatly required not only in taekwondo but for all sports as well.
