Interesting Olympic match
See how the Korean player play against USA Mark Lopez. Mark Lopez is fast but Son Tae Jin from Korea is so sharp that he could get him even before he can kick out. This is something not easy. Son Tae Jin really play well and deserve to win the gold. This is one of the interesting match that can be found in the Olympic 2008. Finally Olympic games are featured.

Some techniques when you are tired...
When sparring, one could be pretty tired especially rounds and rounds of exchanging kicks with one another. There is however a few things that one can do. One of them is to execute a punch right at the protector. when executing it one must take note of the following:
1. Punch in at the right distance. Move in to cut the distance if the opponent kicking range is further. Stay where you if opponent is moving in when kicking.
2. Aim straight to the central of the body as by doing so, it make the opponent lose more balance thus need more recovery time and may also cause the opponent to fall.
3. Once there is a distance, take the chance to score or close in to prevent being scored.

Short video on best 5 matches
I found this video and thought it is pretty interesting to share about it. This video is about the best 5 Taekwondo matches. It mainly features high kicks that will give a knock out and though it is not easy to give a good high kick and score the two points in the match as it requires faster speed and greater accuracy than to give a kick on the body(It also depends on the timing, deception and the opponent) I would not think that will constitute as the best match. Best match perhaps to me is about the strategies and techniques involving when playing the game rather than just the beauty of the high kicks.
It could be exciting even when the players aimed only the body and get as many points as possible. No point keep aiming for knockout and for the head points scored on the body using excellent techniques are beautiful too. It is about the overall perception of the match that should determine the best match rather than just on the kicks.

Thoughts on refereeing and promoting Taekwondo
With reference to the Taekwondo news about the President publishing a book, I would like to touch on that point that at some tournaments there are really a lack of referees. Refereeing a game could be a tiring job though it is important. Perhaps more recognition could be given to these referees so that they will feel that they are being recognized and it is a worthy job to take up.
Sometimes referees are not that sharp in their judgement or they are not fast enough to make that call. This is an important factor especially when Taekwondo can be a pretty fast game. Still despite the cheering, the button pressed for the other opponent when he scores, the referees have to take note to give points for counter. There are a few instances where at some matches, the attacking kick is really less solid though a point still but the counter kick which has more impact, more solid, sharper sound is not given the point due.
Taekwondo has made it as an official sport in the Olympic games by no means of any little effort. We can see that the federation and its president really go all out to promote the sports and to secure a place in the Olympics. But of course in another perspective as the sport becomes more globalized and commercialized, there is also a risk of losing its art. That is something that should be dealt with seriously. After all, no matter how a sport Taekwondo is, it is the art that define its beauty too.

Taekwondo President to publish a book
World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) President Choue Chung-won will release an English book titled ``Peace in Mind, Sports at Heart,'' in his work, Choue outlines his thoughts on how to further develop taekwondo and the WTF. The 223-page book will contains his ideas on the globalization of taekwondo, the creation of a new taekwondo image, and a vision of sports and peace, as well as his reflections on life.
The publication also highlights the reason why the WTF headman launched the Taekwondo Peace Corps last summer and the ongoing WTF efforts for fair judging and refereeing. Fair judging and refereeing is always a controversial topic whenever there is human error such as awarding the point inconsistently.
It is nice to see how the President and the organizational body is always gearing up to promote the sport and securing a place in the Olympic games.
